We have added a new category, ULFA FAQs, to the category list on the left hand side of this page. We think that our members will find this feature very informative and useful.  We will be posting the answers to some of the questions that are most frequently asked of our BRs and at our meetings.  We have posted a couple of questions to get us started and encourage you to get in the habit of using this as an easy way to keep up with what is going on. This category will be routinely updated so be sure to check it often.

Our elected officials have a direct effect on our jobs, our rights, and our family's and community's well-being. Please contact your local legislator and voice your concerns regarding the attacks on public education and the impact that the cuts in education funding have meant for our District.

Team ULFA Raises $4519. for "Making Strides Breast Cancer Walk"

Thanks to our many members who participated either by walking or donating to the  "Making Strides Against Breast Cancer Walk."  We raised $4,519. which is  $1, 372. higher than last year. Special recognition goes to Long Branch Elementary for raising $1,000!

Grass-Roots Ad Stresses Value of Teachers

The 30-second ad was made through teacher donations in an effort to strike back at Gov. Cuomo?s criticism of New York?s teachers. The video is notable because it comes from directly from the teachers. In comparison to the labor ads that go after New York City Mayor Michael Bloomberg or Cuomo during the recent teacher evaluation talks, the message is largely apolitical and upbeat. (Schoharie Teachers Association).

Many studies over the years have documented the need for smoother transitions from prekindergarten to the elementary level. A new AFT report reinforces that conclusion—and does it in a manner that puts frontline voices at the heart of the dialogue.
